I am 49. My husband is 60 and was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017. We hoped for the best with active surveillance until we are told that was no longer an option and surgery was the only choice. John had his surgery on 12/27. What I tell him every day. “You can do this. you will recover- things will get easier. It will be less mortifying eventually. Your energy, your control, and your drive will come back” What I don’t tell him.

” I am petrified. I lost my first husband when we were only 29- I had to tell two young baby boys ( 1 and 3) their Dad died. I had to rebuild my life. Now we have three sons. I don’t know if I can do it again- being a widow- re- rebuilding a life. I need you here with me”
