I’m nominating my sweet Mom. My dad passed away in 1986, fast forward to 1993 she remarried Van, my step-dad who had 7 kids + me & 9 sibs, 1 yr later came the ours, Neil, born with Down Syndrome. Of course blending a fam that big was work. About 10 years ago, Van was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he did a prostatectomy but a few yrs later it returned, so they did radiation tx. It returned a 3rd time with a terminal prognosis. It’s just my parents now, all the kids have left, they are in early 70’s. I watch my mom care for him, worry & cook healthy. It’s so tender watching them. Van is shocking Drs by being the 3 years or less they gave him.
