My husband Matt and I have always been in love, like for real – we’ve been together since 1987 and he still makes my heart leap when I see his face. We have always cared for others from rescue animals to rescuing people, With a warm bed, a safe place and lots of love. We cared for my Dad until he passed in 2010, We took in my profoundly handicapped mother and she lived with us for 8 years before her passing. Not two months after my Mom passed, we faced our first cancer scare – Matt had a large parotid tumor removed from his head, it was benign, a few months after that it was a large tumor on his Thyroid – also benign – then a few months after that he was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. He’s only 53 and we’ve depleted many of our resources caring for my mom and others…..thinking we had plenty of time to take care of ourselves….not knowing what was coming for us. I’ve spent a lifetime caring for those I love and I wouldn’t change a thing but for the first time in my life….We need help, We need hope.
