What is the Home Run Challenge?
If you follow baseball, or if you follow PCF, you have likely heard about the Home Run Challenge. But what is the Home Run Challenge? Here is everything you need to know.
Home Run Challenge allows you to support two great things simultaneously.
- Your favorite Major League Baseball team.
- Prostate Cancer Foundation.
How? It’s really simple. Make a pledge on behalf of your favorite team (National League or American League) to donate any amount of money for every home run hit from June 1st to June 16th. Note that you are pledging for ALL home runs made in MLB games from June 1st to June 16th, not just home runs made by your favorite team. You can also choose to make a one-time donation on behalf of your team.
Whether you pledge 1 cent per home run, 100 dollars per home run, or make a one-time donation, you will be entered in a sweepstakes to win the baseball fan’s prize of a lifetime: a trip to this year’s MLB All-Star Week July 7 – 9 in Cleveland, OH, including airfare, hotel accommodations, and tickets to events throughout the entire weekend including Play Ball Park, the Home Run Derby, the Celebrity Softball Game, and, of course, the All-Star Game! (You can also enter by just sending us an email with the name of your favorite baseball team). Make sure to follow your favorite team’s progress – in both home runs and donations.
Since its inception in 1997, more than $45 million has been raised from the Home Run Challenge for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. That’s $45 million dollars’ worth of lifesaving research and awareness.
