About Deidra H
I myself am a two time cancer survivor of cervical cancer. I also cared for both my parents while they were on hospice for lung and liver cancer. I also took care of my step father who was diagnoised with Prostate cancer. All of these people were my entire world. I gave up all to be with them and care for them but looking back I just wish I could of done more for them. I would give anything for one more second with them. For all caregivers, I say the exhaustion and stress is nothing in comparison to when they are gone and you can’t care for them any longer. Hang in there. And take time for yourself during this time if possible. Your no good to anyone else if you dont take care of yourself. I often felt like I should do more. But had no idea what else to do. It is a helpless feeling. I prayed and believed with all my heart for healing for each of them. But God had other plans for them. I had to accept it but it changed my entire life. My whole world all the sudden within a 10 year period of time was over. I felt like a 36 year old orphan. I mean the way it was, that was over. My life has never been the same since. But I would not of traded one second of it for anything. I look forward to being with them all again one day. Thank you for letting me tell you my story.
