My husband was diagnosed 11 years ago. He had surgery and 3 months later radiation, every day for 8 1/2 weeks. He also had a pulmonary embolism 2 weeks after his surgery. I started a journal and have notes from every appointment he has had. I only missed a few due to illness. He was also in a trial program at NIH. Currently he is going through hormone treatments. I make sure he takes his warfarin every night and goes to all his appointments. I would highly recommend any caretaker keep a journal. You never know when you are asked a question and you have the information readily available. My husband is 69 years old. I am 70 snd we have been married 39 years.
