I am writing to tell you about my amazing Mum.

2 years ago my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. He is in the UK, my Mum is in Portugal and I’m in Melbourne. Whilst getting her head around her 38year old son suffering from cancer my mum’s husband was diagnosed with prostate and subsequent liver cancer.

He has had a rocky journey so far with multiple emergencies, appointments and procedures. My mum has become his full time carer, helping him with personal care, becoming his PA to coordinate all of his appointments and his 24hour support as they live away from family. She has managed all of this whilst emotionally supporting us from a distance. Due to COVID this is the longest we’ve ever gone without seeing each other, it’s physically and mentally painful not being able to comfort her in person.

I appreciate non of us are in the US but if you could consider honouring her with care package I know it would lift her spirits.
