About Sheila F.
My uncle Rob passed away this summer from Stage IV Prostate cancer at the young age of 51, about 2 years after his diagnosis. His wife Sheila did it all. She was his primary caregiver while also working as an elementary school teacher during a global pandemic. She was the epitome of a frontline worker- a hero who was both serving the community by educating kids and providing for Rob during those painful moments in his cancer journey. During this time she was also supporting her two daughters in college. Her unwavering love for him made the best of an extremely difficult situation, and her strength kept her family and so many others afloat during this difficult time in the pandemic. She also made sure to make Rob’s time after his diagnosis fun and memorable- she planned a trip for them to fulfill his lifelong dream of being on The Price is Right! Sheila deserves so many awards, and we are all grateful that Rob had her by his side through his illness. Sheila is still a strong advocate for prostate cancer and is working hard so others in the future will have positive outcomes along their cancer paths.
