About Christine Z.
Funny about the timing of this post…My Dad just found out today his PSA levels tripled in the past month. He was diagnosed quite some time ago, had his prostate removed and every couple years it seems like a rollercoaster of ups and downs- he received radiation and injections, hormone treatments etc.
Although I was there driving him around to appointments etc- I would nominate my dad, as the ultimate caregiver- He never stopped caring for us- He’s the toughest man I know- taking care of his family, maintaining his job(s) all while keeping a ridiculously positive attitude. He’s really is an inspiration! He turns 80 this year and still works full time!
Today he seemed a bit defeated with the news of the rapid PSA increase but he’s ready!! He’s been using some eastern medicine techniques recently- this past fall we collected some mushrooms in the woods of NJ to make a tincture of tea he drinks every morning. My dad owns an environmental education company called A Touch of Nature- where we educate and entertain people with/about animals, ecosystems, etc. (He was actually my Biology teacher in High School!!) Each year my Dad and I donate a program at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Bunny Hop Cancer Fundraiser- where he continues to teach me… about life, love and never giving up. Love ya Snakey!
