I am a US military Vietnam Era Veteran, US Air Force officer. And yes, Veterans get cancer, too! My particular cancer is prostate, one of the six types of cancer that is 100% curable. My wife is a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 40 years. She is my morale booster and confidant. No doubt about that! My medical doctors are at the Philadelphia, PA Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center, but they receive their medical training and expertise at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, just two blocks away from the Philly VA. I am in recovery from 28 radiation therapy treatments. It has been a long and arduous journey! But my doctors say I am doing well. However, I am not yet through the woods until I see my revised PSA blood draw reading in about a month from now. That will tell whether or not the radiation took effect. My doctors believe my PSA count should be at or near zero instead of at 8 when I started therapy. Time will only tell. Please see my attached published story. I am a grateful Veteran! Thank you!!!
