About Jaclyn D.

I am the personal caregiver to my husband Bruce, We have been together for 42 years and married for married for 33 years. He is step-dad to my 2 grown children and 5 step-grandchildren. He had a prostatectomy in 2009. After going through 47 rounds of radiation he was in remission up until the spring of 2020. He started having hip and back pain and after having an exray on his rib following a simple fall he was sent for an MRI and bone scan and was diagnosed in the fall with Metastatic Prostate Cancer. He underwent 2 different home cancer treatments to give him more time, but since November of 2021 he has been in Home Palliative Care. Up until Christmas he was able to do most of his self care, but since January of this year he has declined substantially. He is completely bed bound now and is completely dependent on me and Home Care through WRHA for his care. I am grateful every morning that I am able to care for him at home and on this journey with him.
