I’m writing this story about my mom and the amazing love and support she offers my dad. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February 2017. She was there with him through the doctor appointments and the diagnoses. It was her decision not to tell her children until later. See my husband was diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma in November 2016 and was giving a year to live. He proposed on Christmas day 2016 and we planned a quick wedding. My mom thought that it was best not to tell us anything until after the wedding that way we could truly enjoy our wedding. How she kept that secret for that long is beyond me. She was stayed strong for my dad during that time, supporting him and keeping his secret. Since then she has been by his side as he travels this journey. Her love and support help not only him but everyone in our family. She is truly an amazing woman who deserves to be honored.
