About Suzy E.
I am writing this on behalf of my 85 year old Grandmother who has been a caregiver since the day she was born January 28th 1936, the world gained an angel that day… She probably wouldn’t consider herself a caregiver but anyone who has ever been lucky enough to meet her would tell you, she has love in her hands and she gives it away freely. My Grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer 10 years ago and at 74 he was still young, he got through treatment with my grandma by his side cooking his meals, researching the best meal plans, helping him through each step of the way. All while continuing to manage his business. He is a cartoonist and you may or may not know his work ( Jim Snook Cartoons) his gift of spreading joy and love was all made possible because of her incredible mind. She is a living computer. This woman has managed the books, shipping and receiving, brochure designing, printing and production for 40+ years. Total BAD ASS. I can’t tell you how heartbreaking it has been the last few years to see my Grandpa grow weaker and weaker he has been suffering from Alzheimer’s. His prostate cancer came back and this time it’s in his bones and they said they wouldn’t be doing treatment this time, just keeping him as healthy as possible for as long as possible. After finding this out my Grandmother took him home and has continued to love and care for her best friend, and at over 65 years of marriage I can’t even begin to imagine the strength that it takes to do what she does every single day. And she still has enough strength and love to give everyone she meets. She would never tell anyone about her struggling, she would never even think about telling her story because she doesn’t see herself as deserving of this she would probably think I was silly for even submitting this to be honest… You want a hero to celebrate? Loretta Snook is a hero, a goddess and she deserves all the acknowledgment and love there is in this universe.
