About Vicki C.
I’m writing for my mother, Vicki Cronauer, who was my dad’s primary caregiver for almost 10 years. My mom passed away unexpectedly last year and I never got the opportunity to thank her for everything she has done for my dad. My dad was diagnosed with colorectal and prostate cancer in the summer of 2008. She fixed his meals, made sure he took his medication, drove him to every appt (doctor, chemo, radiation, etc), and basically waited on him every second of every day. Since her death I am now in charge of helping him although at a much limited capacity. I just wanted to say out loud how much of a saint my mom truly was for everything she did for my father. He is now cancer free and I believe that my mother nursed him back to health. I now understand how stressful caring for a sick person can be and the fact that she did it for 10 years without complaining just proves how wonderful of a person she was. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts about my mom. She was a perfect example of what a caregiver should be.
