Grilled Brussels Sprouts
If you have a vegetable-grilling tray with small openings, use it for this recipe. Try the grilling sauce on tofu, fish, chicken or any vegetable.
Ingredients: 2 cups Brussels sprouts (washed, trimmed and cut in half lengthwise)
Grilling Sauce Ingredients
1/2 cup | ketchup |
1/4 cup | low-sodium tamari soy sauce |
1 tbsp | honey |
1/2 inch piece | fresh ginger, peeled and grated or minced |
2 tsp | crushed fresh garlic (about 4 cloves) |

- In a pot of boiling water blanch Brussels sprouts for 3 minutes. Strain water in a colander and rinse Brussels sprouts with cold water.
- Place all ingredients for grilling sauce in a food processor and process until smooth.
- Coat Brussels sprouts with sauce. (You can put sprouts in a mixing bowl, pour sauce overall and mix with a spoon or spatula.) Preheat barbeque.
- Arrange Brussels sprouts flat-side down over medium flame on barbecue grill. Grill 2 minutes. Turn sprouts and grill 2 minutes longer. Serve.
