Gainesville, FL – October 16, 2024 Man Cave Health, in partnership with the UF Health Cancer Center and the Prostate Cancer Foundation, is excited to announce a special “Tailgate and Testing” event during the University of Florida’s upcoming football tailgate. As part of our mission to raise awareness about prostate cancer and promote early detection, we will be offering PSA tests and educational resources to attendees at Gator Fanfest outside of Gate 2 at Exactech Arena.

“We’re thrilled to partner with UF Health Cancer Center and the Prostate Cancer Foundation for this important cause,” said Chris Masters, Executive Director of Man Cave Health. “This event gives us a chance to engage with men in the community, save lives through early detection, and remind everyone, especially men, that taking charge of your health can be fun and rewarding. ”

This unique event blends Gator game day excitement with a life-saving cause. Fans can enjoy the tailgate lounge, get cool swag and visits from gator greats while also getting critical men’s health information and screening, all in a fun and engaging environment. The Man Cave Health, UF Health Cancer Center, and Prostate Cancer Foundation teams will be on-site, offering PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood tests, educational materials, and answering questions about prostate health.

“College football brings communities together, and there’s no better time to remind men about the importance of taking care of their health,” said Prostate Cancer Foundation President Gina Carithers. “With one in eight men being diagnosed with prostate cancer, early detection is critical. We’re excited to partner with UF Health Cancer Center and Man Cave Health to offer PSA testing during one of the biggest college football matchups of the season, giving fans the chance to protect their health while enjoying their gameday experience.”

“Appropriate screening remains a critical component in the diagnosis of treatment of prostate cancer,” said Paul Crispen, M.D., the David A. Cofrin Endowed Chair of Urologic Oncology at the UF College of Medicine and associate director for clinical research at the National Cancer Institute-designated UF Health Cancer Center. “This is especially important in our region, which continues to see too many men diagnosed with advanced disease.”

UF Health Cancer Center and UF Health Urology patient Marvin Sanders with a message about the importance of screening and early detection.
