The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) mourns the recent passing of our friend and a longtime champion for cancer patients, California Senator Dianne Feinstein. Senator Feinstein led an iconic life of public service and leadership, and her involvement in the world of cancer research was no exception.
As Co-Chair of the Senate Cancer Coalition, Senator Feinstein was a trailblazer in raising awareness for multiple forms of cancer and other diseases, improving treatment options and access for all Americans, and increasing research funding. She was one of the first US lawmakers to draw attention to our foundation’s mission by attending PCF’s 1993 Call to Action Dinner, our first major effort to raise vital awareness of prostate cancer in Washington, DC.
As we honor the legacy of Senator Feinstein, we celebrate her efforts and her example. PCF extends our heartfelt sympathies to the Senator’s family during this time of grief. She will be missed – may she live long in the hearts and minds of our nation.
