Michael Milken
Founder & Chairman
“By the time I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 1993, I thought I knew a lot about cancer. So the shock of my diagnosis was compounded by the realization that I knew almost nothing about prostate cancer. I still shudder at the thought of what would happen if I hadn’t insisted on the PSA test even though I felt fine.”

March in Washington spurs Congress to double the NIH Funding
Hundreds of thousands of participants, including representatives from 600 disease organizations, gathered on the National Mall and across the country to demand increased research funding. Mike Milken played a key role in organizing the event, bringing together advocates and researchers. Later that year, Congress passed legislation to more than double the National Institute of Health budget over the next five years.
