Challenge yourself to reduce your dependence on sugar. Does sugar cause cancer? Right now, we can’t make a blanket statement like that. But research indicates that certain kinds of cancer, of which prostate cancer is one, seem to feed on the metabolic byproducts of sugar. So for three Fridays in September, join us to find out where the sugar is in your food, and how to moderate it in your diet.
Double down on the challenge – use your pain to raise money for critical prostate cancer research like the work of PCF researchers Lew Cantley and Nicole Simone. Activate your fundraiser here, and ask folks to pledge you a dollar amount for each Friday you challenge yourself.
- Friday #1 – SEPT 10 – No sugar-added desserts, no sugar-added dressing or sauce
- Friday #2 – SEPT 17 – Take your favorite recipe and substitute fruit (e.g, muffins sweetened with banana instead of sugar)
- Friday #3 – SEPT 24 – Dessert at every meal! But it has to be made of fruit and vegetables only, no added sugar (share your recipes/photos/inventions!).
