Dear Earth Angel,

We’ve been through a lot these past few years. I am so blessed to have you as my wife, caretaker and best friend. You brighten my days, you find ways to reduce the stress, ease the pain and look at the sunny side of life.

You are selfless, resilient, patience, strong and loving.

You always have my back and provide the positive energy I need to battle prostate cancer.

You have been with me every step of the way, traveling an unpaved road of uncertainty with no guarantees.

I couldn’t imagine going through this without you by my side.

You were there when the doctor diagnosed me, and immediately jumped into action asking questions about treatment plans.

You were there when I sought a second opinion, and patiently listened as we went over and over the pros and cons of each treatment option.

You were by my side when I chose surgery, telling me “we will get through this together”.

You held my hand before and after surgery, encouraging me to stay strong.

You were there keeping track of my medication protocols.

You were there when I needed help getting out of bed or using the bathroom.

You were there to drive me to and from countless doctors appointments and hospital visits.

You were there, by my side when the doctor confirmed cancer had returned, and never once did you over react.

You were there each time I finished a treatment, faithfully counting down the days until I could ring the bell.

You were there listening when I needed to talk and lying beside me in silence when I needed peace and quiet.

You were there to push me to eat when I wasn’t up to it.

You were there when the doctor outlined yet another treatment option, and quickly renewed your unwavering support.

And you are always there for our family, taking no time off for yourself.

I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I have never felt so loved and cared for. I can’t put it into words how grateful I am to be your husband, patient and best friend.

Thank you Janet, you are the best Earth Angel in the world.

I will forever love you around the world and back ten zillion times.
