About Stacy L.
My grandfather died from prostate cancer while I was in medical school. He was a World War II veteran and had always been very strong, and undergoing prostate cancer treatment was very hard for him. Helping him through his prostate cancer journey had a major impact on our family and is what inspired me to dedicate my career to prostate cancer. Shortly after his death I saw a lecture on prostate cancer, and started working on my first research project. That was in 2004 and I have been working on it virtually every day since. I hope to help other prostate cancer patients and their families through my clinical practice and research. It is an honor to work with the Prostate Cancer Foundation, which is at the forefront of important research with the potential to transform prostate cancer care.
